Miller Associates Biography

Miller Associates, Inc.

The Miller brothers formed Miller Associates in 1983 to design and develop a baseball simulation-- APBA Major League Players Baseball. Miller Associates, Inc. has now published 135 products to accompany the baseball game, for DOS and Windows, including eight major upgrades to the APBA family of programs, an online playing environment for the DOS version, and the Bill James Electronic Baseball Encyclopedia for Windows (CD-ROM), the first PC-based baseball encyclopedia. In 1994 Baseball for Windows won Computer Gaming World's coveted Premier Finalist, Sports Product of the Year.

The Company's principal business is now developing and publishing software based on the control of language. Its proprietary development tool--the ArtSoundTM Authoring System-- allows intelligent, context sensitive, multi-channel sound and voice output from very large sound libraries. Baseball for Windows 3.0 with Ernie Harwell Broadcast Blast (CD-ROM), using ArtSound, is the first full-broadcast PC sports game. Additional products are in development.

Miller Associates is an Affiliate Partner of Maxis, creators of SimCity and the country's leading simulation gaming software publisher. Maxis provides retail distribution and strategic services to the Company.
