The Baseball Wizard is back. He has all his old tricks and many new ones. Everything you had in the DOS version is made easier in Windows. You can edit every player rating, including offensive "card" numbers that control hitting, injury factor, platoon, speed, stealing, arm, and personal characteristics like name and batting and throwing hands. All pitcher ratings can be changed, like grade, relief grade, control, home run, move and more.

But now you can also change all positions played and primary position. You can even turn a pitcher into an outfielder or make a second baseman into a relief pitcher. In short, the new Baseball Wizard is designed according to our Total Control philosophy. We give you total control over the playing environment.

• Pick a season and Wizard finds the league totals for that season and adjust the player's ratings accordingly. So for instance, if you give a pitcher a 4.00 ERA, he'll be graded a whole lot lower in 1967 than 1935!
• Wizard protects actual stats. When you Wizardize a player, his original statistics are saved and displayed. So if you change your mind and want to re-Wizardize, it's just two clicks and he's ready.
• Wizard now shows you additional stats needed to fine-tune a player's performance, like age, grounded into double plays, and pitcher's complete games. You can see (and override!) all the stats used to set his ratings.
• You can now add Opponents' Stolen Bases and Caught Stealing for a catcher, so his Throw rating is based on actual success rates.
• You can normalize players to any season. It's nothing mysterious and it's very handy. For example playing an old-time star on a 1995 team, if you want him to perform realistically, then set the normalization to 1995 and Wizardize. Presto, He's a modern player.
• Save time by Wizardizing or Normalizing players in batches. You can select an entire team, every player in the league, or a customized set of players, and then with a few clicks ZAP! Wizardize or Normalize them all at once.
• Simulate any league. For instance you can enter a few season stats and Wizard will create or modify players as if they had played in a league with those stats. Wizard comes with all the big league stats. Every year through 1995!

Whichever Wizard features you use, you end up with players who perform realistically on the field. Of course, it's still up to you to manage them.

Naturally, Baseball Wizard for Windows works directly on the installed player disks installed under Baseball for Windows, so you never again have to convert back and forth between DOS and Windows. This eliminates all the restrictions on when you Wizardize. You can now change a player in the middle of a replay, or add a rookie or a late season call-up to a league in progress, or create a player entirely from scratch.
